introduction to team group
Our pre-team classes prepare boys to join USGA’s competitive boys’ team. The classes focus on strength, flexibility and technique. Classes are similar in structure to our team practices, and meet twice a week for 2 hours each.
USGA’s compulsory boys’ team meets three times per week, for 3 hours/class. Classes focus on a series of skills which will allow your gymnast to perform compulsory routines for each apparatus. Your team gymnast will be entered into USAG competitions. There is one competitive season, in the spring. Each season comprises of approximately 7-10 meets where gymnasts strive to qualify for the State Competition, followed by Regionals and then the National Championships.
Our optional boys’ team train with coaches daily on all six apparatus with emphasis on detail, form, strength and individualized routines specific to each gymnast. The competitive season extends through the spring season, where gymnasts strive to qualify for the Oregon State Championship meet. Level 8, 9 and 10 gymnasts can qualify for the Regional Competition followed by the National Competition.
